Board Member: Miles Gallagher

Miles has lived in Mancos since 2006. He originally moved here to build a barn for his parents and quickly felt at home with the geography and community.  For eight years, he ran a small vegetable farm on ten acres, transitioning to construction when his first son was born. Miles is the proud father of two boys, and he and his wife could not imagine raising them any place else.

As a former farmer and current Webber ditch user, he understands intimately the importance of water and watershed management. He realizes that Mancos largely exists from the hard work of those who have created and maintained our irrigation ditches over the past hundred plus years. Miles is interested in promoting and maintaining the excellent quality of our soil that makes Mancos such a good place to grow things. As an avid outdoor recreationalist, he is interested in the health of our forests, and as a long-term resident and a man raising a family here, he’s invested in Mancos retaining its agricultural roots.
